Simply Iris
Most people are familiar with the blooms of the purple iris.
I did not realise there are so many other varieties in practically every shade you can think of ...
Aren't they lovely?
Once again Mother Nature proves she is the supreme artist ...

Night Shoot
The photography course night shoot at the Louvre was a first for me.
I am glad I tried it and the effects were interesting, but I will probably not be rushing out to buy a tripod just yet ...
My favourite part of this experience was when at twilight the early summer sky turned a vivid indigo blue just like in Vincent Van Gogh's paintings ... stunning !

The Local Cafe
Le petit dejeuner est un debut plus important de la journee ... and on a few occasions I enjoyed the simple fare and unaffected ambience of eating breakfast at a most typical Parisian cafe called Au Chai de l'Abbaye situated at 26 rue de Buci which was close to my apartment.
Warm and welcoming with friendly waiters and interesting locals, you can stand, or perch, on a stool at le zinc ( the bar ) and enjoy a coffee and croissant for just a few euros, or sit down at a table and indulge in the complete breakfast of fresh juice, coffee or tea, an egg of your choice and 2 croissants with butter and jam for 12 euros.
Au Revoir. Bonne journee !

Lovely Lourmarin
One of my very favourite towns in the Luberon was Lourmarin ... creative, colourful and altogether charming ...
Au revoir Lourmarin - hope to see you again some day ...
