A Perfect Square

Considered to be one of the most beautiful squares in Paris, the Place des Vosges remains intact after 400 years.
36 houses ( 9 each side ) make up its perfect symmetry

Many Parisians were taking advantage of a beautiful Spring day and lazing on the grass - one of the few public places this is permitted !

The French poet and novelist, Victor Hugo lived here from 1832 - 1848 and wrote most of Les Miserables and many other works in his second floor apartment

Victor Hugo created this amazing Chinese room

Imagine if this fire had spread to one of the neighbouring properties ?

  1. We had a drink or dinner (I can't remember...) at Hugo's Restaurant at Place des Voges. This brings back the memories.
